Multiplication Table Test
February 25th, 2007A few months ago, my 7 year old daughter saw me working with Excel and she said that she knew that it’s a part of ‘Office’. They have MS Office at school and they use PowerPoint to create their own presentations. She made one presentation about the solar system. But anyway, she asked if I could teach her Excel, so I showed her a few ‘cool’ things in Excel. She was trying to learn the multiplication table at that time so I also showed her how to make a simple multiplication chart in Excel.
This spreadsheet is something I made to help her learn the multiplication table. It allows her to pick a ‘difficulty level’ which means up to which multiplication table she wanted to be in the test. And she can tell how many questions she wanted to be asked (1 to 20). The cool thing about it is that it keeps track of her progress in a hidden sheet and whenever she generates a new test, it will first pick ones that she has not been asked before. It also gives priority to questions that she had previously answered incorrectly. That way, she gets to practice on ones that she really need to.
Download the workbook here if you think it’s something you might be able to use. Here’s a couple of screenshots.
